Merry Christmas !

Dear Family and Friends,

This Christmas is very special for us. It is the first year that we are celebrating it as a family. Last year, we celebrated Christmas day as a couple and then I spent several days in Toronto, Canada while Matt nursed his flu and cold (which he got Christmas eve) here in Utah.

This year, we have Ben. Most of the gifts under the tree are his. We brought him to the mall to see Santa but he got scared and cried when it was our turn to sit with him. Oh, well ... maybe next year.

A few weeks ago, we got a big dump of snow and we brought him outside so he could experience his first taste of snow. He was a bit unsure at first but he got used to it and is now comfortable playing in the snow. He has his sled, his snow boots and his snow suit all ready for when we go to Durango after Christmas.

As we celebrate the birth of Christ, we specially thank God for Ben and we are grateful to you all for your prayers and support. To our parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins and our old friends, thank you for welcoming Ben into your hearts. It means so much to us.

We also remember the little angels who went home with their forever families this year.

The list above is only a partial list. There are lots more. We also remember our friends in the AdoptTaiwan yahoo group - those who've been in the journey before and who've given us so much support. We also remember those still waiting to bring their angels home, we hope that 'Gotcha Day' comes very soon.

We wish you and your families a very MERRY CHRISTMAS !

Love,

Matt, May and Ben

The Three Little B's (Booboo, Bambam and Ben)

Here are pictures of Lauren (Booboo), Jackson (Bambam) and Ben. These were taken during our visit to Toronto last Nov 16-19.

There are so many we want to share with you so we put the rest in this slide show.

Ben's First Haircut

Ben's hair is fine and there's really not a lot, yet. However, the hair at the back is getting longer so we figured it was time for his first haircut.

We timed it so he can go to Melonhead in Toronto, Canada. His cousins Lauren and Jackson had their first haircut there so we knew they were good with toddlers.

He sat at the Thomas The Engine chair and was cool about the whole thing. He didn't like the razor, though and protested and started to cry. Overall, though, he did very well. We were so proud of him. As you can see Matt was videotaping it and I was taking the pictures.

After that, he got a sucker for a treat and was able to ride the other chairs they have. He was also given a certificate of his first haircut with a lock of his hair saved for posterity.

1st Halloween

Ben survived his first Halloween! For a first-timer, he did very well. After 1-2 houses, he really got into it. He figured out that he had to get some of the candies being offered and he knew that he had to put it in his pumpkin basket.

We think he really had a nice time lining up with the rest of the neighborhood kids as they waited for their turn to get their goodies.

It was a bit chilly Halloween night and quite tiring for him so to cap the day, we went to Starbucks to chill.

Hope you all had a good Halloween. Until next year!

Fall Festival at Ben's School

As part of their fundraising efforts for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and in celebration of the fall season, La Petite Academy had a week-long activity at the school. Monday was Crazy Hair Day, Tuesday was Crazy Sock Day, then Crazy Hat Day for Wednesday and Crazy PJ Day on Thursday. Friday was the open house/halloween party.

Here are the pictures from the Halloween party.

Lots of Fun at the Farm

There were lots of activities available to kids young and old at the Pumpkin Patch. There was the hayride and then the farm animal petting area. There was also the miniature maze and the slides. Then there was the cow ride and the corn kernel box.

Here are the pictures!

Faces of Ben

Here are some close-ups of Ben. I've been taking so many pictures of him that I think he has become comfortable with the camera. Camera-shy, he is definitely not.

The first few slides show him trying several shades that we got for him. I had a nice time taking pictures but he totally hates all of them. He doesn't want anything on his face.

The next slides show his messy face after eating pancakes. Matt made chocolate-chip with blueberry pancakes and Ben ate it with gusto.

Again, another batch of pictures taken while he was eating his breakfast. He loves the Honey-nut cheerios and can actually finish a whole banana. It took a while for him to get used to the sippy cup but once he learned how to use it, he loved it.

I'll be sure to post more close-up shots of him in the future.

Ben Goes To School

Here are some pictures and video of Ben taken at school.
I bring him to the daycare center everyday before I start work and Matt picks him up on the way home.
